Last summer DLC joined the Round Top Family Library in Round Top, Texas for Summer Science in June.  Our kick off Science Night was a big hit with all of the kids.  Thank you for everyone that came out for some scientific fun. Please join us next summer for more science fun.

DLC was at Blackland Prairie Elementary School in Round Rock, Texas for STEM Fest in November this year.  Students presented their projects about science, technology, engeineering, and math. Kids came out to our booth and had their hand at science and math brain teasers, exploring rocks, and classifying objects.  Be sure to stop by next year when we will be back again for more science fun.

DLC is headed back to the Round Top Family Library in Round Top, Texas for Summer Science 2017!  We will be there Tuesdays & Thursdays in June.  Our kick off Science Night was June 2nd.  Come out and see us this summer!!

The kids were tasked with building a boat out of the given supplies.  The challenge was could their boat hold 20 pennies for 20 seconds.  They all did great!  Their ideas were oustanding and one boat even held 90 pennies!  Way to go!

This investigation was on bird beak types and what types of food they eat.  Here they were trying their hand at tools to pick up their "food".  They used spoons, straws, chopsticks, and clothes pins to pick up beans, marshmallows, and seeds.  They learned that different beaks are used to eat differnt types of foods.
